For counsellor to effectively help his clients, he must have knowledge of his client’s characteristics and comprehensive information about him. Gaining such information is not an easy task; you can get such information from the following:

A test is generally a test of questions, problem, puzzles, symbols and exercise used to determine a person’s ability, aptitude, knowledge, qualification, interest and level of social adjustment.
It is systematic procedure for observing a person’s behaviour and describing it with the aid of a numerical scale.
A test also can be seen as an instrument for making prediction selection, placement, counselling, evaluation and classification.
A psychological test is an objective and standardized measure of a sample of behaviour.
It is a means of discovering whether a person has an ability aptitude, traits or character for which he is purported to possess.
