Bodily exercise
Man is a living organism with functional components that are needed to execute the different activities of life. For these components of man to perform optimally they need adequate maintenance through food, exercise and regular rests.

Certain disease conditions have been associated to sedentary lifestyle or lack of physical exercise. Any part of the body that is idle or redundant for a long time is most likely to diminish in size. A practical demonstration of this is seen when your hand is so on a sling for a long while. Depending on the length of time the hand may be visibly shrivelled. On close observation you will find out that the arm one uses more frequently than the other is slightly bigger in size.
Exercise and Physical Fitness
Regular exercise is a critical part of staying healthy. People who are active live longer and feel better. Exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight. It can delay or prevent diabetes, some cancers and heart problems.

There is 1, 440minutes in every day. It will not be a waste of time to schedule 30 of them for physical activity.
Most adults would need at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity at least five days per week. There are several types of exercises for one to embark on depending on personal and environmental factors. Some examples of common ones include walking briskly, mowing the lawn, dancing, swimming for recreation or bicycling. Stretching and weight training can also strengthen your body and improve your fitness level.
The key is to find the right exercise for you. If your choice is fun to you, you are more likely to stay motivated. You may want to walk with a friend, join a class or plan a group bike ride. Whatever exercise you select to start, if you have been inactive for a while, use a sensible approach and start out slowly.
Two Common Questions on Bodily Exercise
If only one could understand the need and usefulness of physical exercise at different stages of their live, they will make greater efforts to have dedicated time for it.

1. Why should I be physically active?
You may know that regular physical activity can help you control your weight. But do you know why? Physical activities burn calories. When you burn more calories than you eat day, you will take off pounds. You can also avoid gaining weight by balancing the number of calories you burn with the number of calories you eat.
Regular physical activity may also help prevent or delay the onset of chronic disease like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke. If you have one of these health problems, physical activity may improve your condition.
Regular physical activity may also increase your energy and boost your mood.

2. Who needs Exercise?
Every adult, man or woman, young or old needs exercise to live healthy. Exercise is necessary for even the elderly; it is a fountain of youth. Millions have discovered it – the secret to feeling better and living longer. It’s called staying active.

An elderly person, man or woman, should find an exercise programme that works for him or her and stick with it. It will pay big dividends. For them regular exercise can prevent or delay diabetes and heart problem. It can also reduce arthritis pain, anxiety and depression. It can help elderly stay independent.

There are four main types of exercise and seniors need some of each:
• Endurance activities – walking, swimming, or riding a bike – which build “staying power” and improve the health of the heart and circulatory system.

• Strengthening exercise which build muscle tissue and reduce age-related muscle loss.

• Stretching exercise to keep the body limber and flexible

• Balance exercise to reduce the chances of a fall
