My boss called to me yesterday to join her in an interview session. The girl in question is a Nigerian. She has beautiful grades, Amazing personality, Strong Command of English language.
BUT....
This is actually my first time of being privy to be a part of screening process and I learnt a great deal. I'll be brief so please let's all kindly take note:
1.Your email id is as important as your CV. Sexy baby@gmail dot com isn't suitable for a corporate profile.
2.Your social media Handle is A Mental Assesment record of who you are in passing. Please be careful of what you allow on your timeline.
3. Please Edit Your Profile on Facebook. How can you live in uyo, school in Bradford and work at It's not your business Global venture? Get serious!
4.Your Profile picture speaks Volumes. Don't Change it at random!
5.Please if you're Having a Skype interview, Use a laptop and close all other tabs! Focus on That interview. Don't be distracted by notifications on facebook and whatsapp!
6.Finally, You may See just one person interviewing you, But I can promise there are two more, Taking notes of how you answer and what you answer.
Except you're into modelling, Learn to Write on social Media.
Just constructively write mbok. That little Effort in writing maybe your saving Grace!
If you are a Chef, Lets see pictures of YOU and the food.
Sell your passion!
Let The interviewers be eager to have you sign the Job offer not be eager to move to the next candidate in wait.
