THE PAN AMERICAN HEALTH ORGANIZATION
This agency was established by the American Republic 2nd Dec. 1902 as PAN American Sanitary Organization. Its origin lies in agreement made in 1887 among the Argentina Brazil and Paraguay in attempting to regulate the spread of yellow fever.
Their roles and functions of Pan American Health Organization include:
- Providing technical assistance to under developed countries
- Receiving and disseminating epidemiological information
- Financing fellowships on Health Medical & Nursing Education
- Promoting health by the prevention of the spread of yellow fever
