The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, and the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, on Wednesday, July 13, finally reached an agreement with the Federal Government to call of its strike action.

The agreement was reached after the Union’s meeting with the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Chris Ngige, and the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachukwu, all through yesterday into the early hours of this morning in Abuja.

Senior officials of the Government, have stated that the Presidency is currently happy about the latest agreement reached.

The Union consequently suspended its strike action, and has directed it members nationwide to resume work immediately.
