A comet is a mixture of ice, gas and dust. Like asteroid, they to travel around the Sun. as a comet near the sun, the ic on its surface melt and a jet of gas and dust particles is released to form a tail. Comet tials can be as long as 10 million kilometres (6.2 million miles).
